Historical Note

The Liberty Club of Bangor, Maine, was organized in 1917 by young women employed at City Hall. Club members supported war efforts by purchasing Liberty Bonds, sending packages to soldiers, and raising funds for the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Fatherless Children of France.
