Historical Note
The Bangor Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1896 by pianist Abbie N. Garland and conductor Horace Mann Pullen. It is one of the oldest continuously operating orchestras in the United States.
Biographical Note
Adelbert Wells Sprague (1881-1956) was a composer, music educator, and conductor. He conducted the Bangor Symphony Orchestra from 1920 until 1952.
