Biographical Note
Gertrude P. (Sylvester) Gordon (1899-1981) of Searsport, Maine, was an artist who specialized in local historical paintings. She also served as correspondent for the Republican Journal in Belfast. She was born in St. Albans, the daughter of Dummer and Evelyn (Cochran) Sylvester. (Source: Bangor Daily News obituary, 1981 May 29.)
