Biographical / Historical

The Maine Music Festival held concerts in Bangor and Portland from 1897 to 1926. The festival was organized and directed by William Rogers Chapman. The first Bangor Auditorium was built to house festival events, which featured statewide choral groups and world-famous performers.

A significant portion of this collection was donated by the Camden Public Library in 1979.
