Biographical Note

Marie Louise (Surette) Boudreau (1918-1997) was the daughter of George and Mary (Arsenault) Surette, French-Canadian immigrants. One of 10 children, she attended schools in Rumford before moving to Bangor at age 17 to work at Philco Shoe Co. She later worked at the Viner Brothers shoe factory and at Bangor restaurants. She married Philip L. Boudreau, a World War II veteran and Maine Central Railroad employee, in 1947. They had two children, Bruce and Cindy.
