Historical Note
The Bangor Board of Health was organized in April 1887 after the Maine State Legislature passed an "act to establish local Boards of Health, and to the protect the people of this State from contagious diseases." Its first members were John Goldthwait, Dr. Daniel A. Robinson, and Dr. Alfred R. Tany.
