Handwritten diary documenting a trip made by James Crosby and his wife Charlotte Hills Crosby from Bangor, Maine, to Saratoga Springs, New York, in the summer of 1825. Diary begins: "I now set out on a journey with my beloved wife with the ardent desire and hope of benefiting her health." The diary describes towns passed on the journey through Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. Includes a transcription made by Charles Crosby, James Crosby's grandson.
